A Red Background Does Not Automatically Make the Performance ‘Demonic’
Singer-songwriter Rihanna performed the Super Bowl half-time show Sunday night, some are calling the production anticlimactic, while others are saying it was “satanic.”
The matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles had millions at the edge of their seats during the first half of the game. The highly anticipated the halftime performance began with Rihanna on an elevated stage, wearing a tight bodysuit and jacket revealing what was later confirmed to be the baby bump for her second child. She was less animated than in previous performances, and much more “PG” than former Super Bowl performers Jennifer Lopez and Shakira.
Despite the obvious “pro-life vibes” first pointed out by advocate for life Christine Yeargin, that the pregnancy reveal exampled (that women can achieve their dreams while being mothers) many conservatives still found reasons to be outraged by the show.
Personally, I loved Rihanna’s performance.
The vast majority of the dancing was tasteful, with the exception of a few gestures that could have been excluded, and she was dressed modestly. Most halftime performances are depraved, and after watching the recent Grammys’ performances, there is no reason conservatives need to pick apart Rihanna’s appearance.
The red lighting, stage, and outfit were simply a color scheme — it does not automatically mean that the performance had “demonic” undertones. I understand the urge to call out all of the problems surrounding Hollywood, and frustrated conservatives are with modernity embracing pure evil messaging and practices. That being said, we can’t be consumed by anger, and looking to be outraged by everything. We can take the win, and enjoy the national football game.
At the very least, we can all agree that country star Chris Stapleton did a phenomenal job performing the Star-Spangled Banner, America’s only national anthem.
