When will the conference take place? Where is it located? When will the agenda be released?

The dates and locations of each conference are located on the specific event page. Details, including specific addresses and agenda, will be provided to attendees upon acceptance to the event. A detailed event agenda is posted on the event website 2-5 days prior to each event. A general agenda is available on the website and in the attendee info packet.

How can I register? What are the registration rates?

The registration page for each event is available on the event-specific webpage. Students ages 16-26 can apply to TPUSA conferences at the student rate. Those over the age of 26 must purchase an adult ticket. This age range is subject to change. Children 12 and under are eligible for free registration. Please see your information packet for the link to register or email tpusaevents@tpusa.com to inquire about child tickets.

What should I know about pricing and ticket inquiries?

Pricing for each conference will vary. TPUSA lodging is available for students. For event-specific pricing, please see event-specific websites or your event information packet, which is sent upon acceptance. Prices are subject to change and vary for each event. A processing fee will be charged to your registration fee when confirming your attendance. Discount codes must be applied upon registration and may not be applied after payment.

I haven’t heard back about my application status. What should I do?

Turning Point USA events are invite only. The Events Team receives thousands of applications and takes diligent steps to read over each one. We appreciate your patience as we review applications on a rolling basis. You will be notified about your application status via email.

Question 5

How can I become a VIP for a conference?

Accepted Answer

VIP tickets are available for purchase at select conferences. VIP tickets include exclusive general session seating, access to the VIP lounge with potential opportunities to meet speakers or TPUSA contributors, and more.

Question 6

What should I know about travel details?

Accepted Answer

Attendees are responsible for booking and paying for their travel to the conference. Recommended airports, bus, and train stations will be included in the conference-specific information packet sent upon acceptance. TPUSA does not provide transportation to and from the airport, hotel, or conference location. We suggest using rideshare apps such as Lyft and Uber for transportation needs.

What is a travel stipend? How can I request a travel stipend?

Travel stipends are awarded to select students needing financial assistance for events. The link to apply can be found on the specific event application website. Please refer to the attendee packet for further details. VIP ticket-type holders are not eligible to receive a travel stipend. Adult attendees age 27 and older are not eligible to receive a travel stipend. Travel stipends are reviewed on a rolling basis, are never guaranteed, and are up to the discretion of the Events Team.

Does TPUSA provide lodging?

TPUSA offers highly subsidized lodging for accepted student attendees between the ages of 16 and 26 on a first come, first serve basis. Student attendees are welcome to forgo TPUSA accommodations and purchase their own. Student attendees 15 years and younger and adult attendees, including parents of student attendees, are responsible for their own lodging arrangements. Attendees are expected to attend all days of each conference. For special circumstances, please email tpusaevents@tpusa.com.

Who should I expect to share a room with?

Please plan to share a room with up to 3 other TPUSA attendees of the same gender and similar age. TPUSA accepts roommate requests and does its best to honor them, but they are not guaranteed, especially as the event date approaches and capacity fills. Couples or siblings of the opposite gender are not allowed to share rooms.

Attendees may request a roommate on the registration application. Roommate requests are not a guarantee but a request.

I am a minor. What specifics do I need to know?

Minors staying within TPUSA-provided lodging will have a curfew every night at 10:00 PM. Turning Point USA staff will be assigned to minors as points of contact during the conference. Minors are required to text their assigned staff member every evening when they are in their hotel room at 10:00 PM. If the student does not respond to the check-in text, TPUSA staff will do an in-person room check. Students who fail to comply with this policy will have their parent(s) or guardian(s) notified and may be subject to removal from the event and TPUSA-provided lodging immediately. Because attendees range from ages 15-26, some attendees may be legally able to partake in activities such as the consumption of alcohol. If minor attendees engage in such activities, the attendee's parent(s), guardian(s), and/or local police will be notified.

Will security be on location during events?

Turning Point USA takes safety and security very seriously. TPUSA hires private security to maintain safety and decorum. Attendees should practice common sense safety measures. If protestors show up to the event, attendees should keep their distance. If attendees are found counter-protesting, their admission badges will be revoked. TPUSA has a firm zero-tolerance policy for harmful behavior or activity. Attendees should report harmful behavior or activities to a TPUSA staff member immediately and contact local authorities if the situation warrants. To report a security concern, email tpusaevents@tpusa.com or incident@tpusa.com. Both emails are monitored 24/7, and communication is kept confidential. At events, security concerns can also be reported to anyone with a TPUSA Staff badge.

What do I need to bring to a conference?

Accepted Answer

Attendees should bring a credit or debit card, official photo identification, appropriate attire, personal toiletries, and spending money. Hotel rooms will be prepaid by TPUSA for attendees who selected and paid for TPUSA-provided lodging; however, attendees will need to put down a personal credit or debit card for room charges or incidentals per hotel policy. Official photo ID, such as a driver's license, passport, or school ID card, is required for event check-in and hotel check-in. Failure to present a photo ID gives TPUSA the right to deny entry to events with no refund. Business casual clothing is suggested for general session meetings, and attendees must wear the badge provided at check-in for the duration of the conference. If a badge is lost, attendees must pay $10 to have one reprinted. Badge reprints are up to the discretion of TPUSA staff.

Will I be able to meet speakers?

Accepted Answer

Many speakers who attend Turning Point USA conferences are excited to engage with student attendees. However, TPUSA cannot control their schedules beyond their allotted speaking time. TPUSA is grateful that speakers are able to join the event and share their message.

What happens if I need to cancel my spot after confirming?

Accepted Answer

Attendees are welcome to cancel their attendance at tpusa.com/eventcancellation. Failure to cancel by the deadline stated in the individual event acceptance packet will result in a $200 cancellation fine. All general admission tickets are non-refundable. All registrations are non-transferable. If you cancel your attendance and repurchase your ticket, reinstatement to the conference is up to the discretion of the TPUSA Events Team. All cancellations will be completed within 3-5 business days.

What is the refund policy?

All general admission registration, hotel fees, and add-ons are nonrefundable at all times. Attendees who purchase a VIP pass are eligible to receive a refund, minus the registration, hotel, and add-on costs, prior to the cancellation deadline stated in the individual event acceptance packet. After that, VIP passes are not eligible for a refund. All refunds are up to the discretion of the TPUSA Events Team. Refunds may take up to 3-5 business days to complete.

What happens if I am not accepted to an event?

All applications are accepted or denied by the TPUSA Events Team. All TPUSA Events are private events, and attendance is up to the discretion of the TPUSA Events Team and TPUSA Staff. If your application has been denied, you will be notified by email and refunded within 3-5 business days.

What is the TPUSA event bag policy?

To ensure the safety of all attendees, Turning Point USA has implemented a policy that limits the size and type of bags allowed into the venue. Bags no larger than 8.5 inches by 5.5 inches and clear bags up to 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches are permitted. Exceptions will be made for medically necessary bags, diaper bags, and strollers after inspection at the entrance. Prohibited items will not be held during the event and must be returned to your vehicle or hotel. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to, aerosols, ammunition, animals other than service or guide animals, backpacks and bags exceeding size restrictions, balloons, bicycles, coolers, costume masks, drones and other unmanned aircraft systems, explosives, firearms, flammable liquids, glass, thermal or metal containers, laser pointers, knives, mace or pepper spray, packages, range finders, recreational motorized mobility devices, selfie sticks, signs and posters, structures, toy guns, tripods, weapons of any kind, and any other items determined to be potential safety hazards. Professional cameras are only allowed with an approved press pass.
