This year, millions of people around the world have closed their eyes and minds to history. It’s wrong, embarrassing, shameful, but most importantly, it’s dangerous.
We are slipping from a life of freedom and choice back into a world of tyranny and force. But here’s why this neglect of history is especially horrible to be seen in a year like 2021:
In 2021 we saw the 20th Anniversary of 9/11 and the Afghanistan war.
In 2021 we saw the 80th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
And now, coming up on December 26, 2021, we will see the 30th Anniversary of the fall of the USSR.
To be neglecting the lessons learned from these tumultuous events in our past is shameful.
