Students involved with Turning Point USA at Georgia State University faced a series of adversarial interactions from students during a club fair, including mockery of TPUSA and the death of Charlie Kirk.
A chapter member provided the TPUSA Live Feed with descriptions of the exchanges with certain students.
“During Georgia State University’s spring club fair, several students stopped by our table and appeared astonished to see TPUSA present,” he said. “Reactions varied, but many were negative. One student approached us and claimed that we spread hatred and told us we are not welcome at GSU and to go to Georgia Southern instead. At another point, a student (with a skateboard) looked at us, formed his hand into a gun, mimed shooting himself in the neck, and then smiled and laughed.”
Another uncomfortable interaction occurred when a pair of students impolitely questioned the chapter members, and eventually mocked them.
“We also encountered two students who initially asked why we were there, but then began giggling, mocking the table, and taking pictures,” the chapter member further related, which was captured on video. “They proceeded to laugh at a photo displayed at the neighboring College Republicans table – a picture of Charlie with his family that read ‘RIP Charlie Kirk.’ When asked whether they thought this behavior was funny, they said yes and continued making comments.”
Later, a student said “my bloody neck hurts” while walking past the table.
