The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, also known as the NAACP, is a civil rights organization in the United States, formed in 1909 to advance justice for African Americans. Recently, they honored former royal Harry and his wife with their NAACP President’s award for their ‘distinguished public service’ through their Archwell Foundation. Their organization only raised $50,000 in its first year and spent more on attorneys.
When donating to charities, it is always wise to conduct your own research on how they spend their money. Are they infusing money back to the people who they purport to support, or are they spending money on travel and overhead?
There are many glitzy organizations with big names that do very little to help. Celebrity endorsements are nice but helping the less fortunate is nicer.
