A highway in Tennessee stretching nearly 15 miles was recently named the “Charlie Kirk Memorial Highway” in honor of the late founder of Turning Point USA.

The provision for the new highway name, which was featured in an omnibus bill passed in April, describes the positioning of the highway, and declares the following rationale for its name.

“The segment of State Route 386 (Vietnam Veterans Boulevard) in Sumner County beginning at the Davidson County – Sumner County boundary and ending at the intersection of such route with Long Hollow Pike / Offitt Drive is hereby designated the ‘Charlie Kirk Memorial Highway” to honor the prominent political activist, media personality, and true pioneer for freedom of speech who co-founded the conservative student organization Turning Point USA and served as its executive director until his assassination in 2025.”

State Representative, Johnny Garrett, was the main force behind the legislation for the highway name.

“For years to come, Tennesseans who travel this highway will be reminded of Charlie’s legacy,” Garrett said in a post on X. “We will continue carrying the torch for the principles he championed!”

Other states in the US have similarly established highways with Charlie Kirk’s namesake, including Florida and Texas
