As you might have heard by now, a self-proclaimed “left-wing authoritarian”, “white supremacist”, and “anti-semitic” teenager live-streamed himself driving to a grocery store in Buffalo, New York, to specifically kill black people. Ten people were killed, and three were wounded, according to the New York Times’ reporting on May 14th.
It turns out a year before this, the shooter had publicly announced at his school that he wanted to be a mass murderer! What this man did was horrible, and the loss of life because of his evil actions is unfathomable.
Stories like this make me wonder, “How does this fall through the cracks?”
The event is now being weaponized against all conservatives, especially conservative political pundits. Even though the shooter self-identifies as a leftwing communist, the left is claiming his racist actions are a result of the conservative base’s mainstream embrace of a concept called “replacement theory. “
The manipulative left has decided to claim anyone concerned with illegal immigration, open borders, the incentives for illegal immigration via welfare programs, and even lax voting laws that call for “undocumented” immigrants to participate in elections like we see in New York City, you are now a white supremacist playing into replacement theory.
The basic security and soverignty of your country is not repackaged by the left as an accusation that – in reality – you are worried that black or brown people will take away your status and influence in America. In other words, you are now evil.
The most loathsome straw-man of this dishonest line of attack is that the left then pairs you with the random evil man in Buffalo who committed a mass shooting against black people.
Do you see how this tactic works?
This disgusting connection the left is attempting to make has gone too far. This is disingenuous and dangerous. We must call them out and hold them accountable for sowing more division in our already-fragile nation.
