By now, the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is a distant memory. All that remains are the light-hearted images of Price George acting cheeky during the festivities. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who purport to be climate activists, appeared in the background at some of the events. But the couple made the biggest flaw that all supposed climate activists make: when departing the celebrations, they flew back to their Montecito, CA estate in a private jet.

According to the New York Post:

“Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are being blasted by critics for returning from Queen Elizabeth II’s four-day Platinum Jubilee celebration in a pollution-spewing private jet.”

Under terms of the Paris Agreement, which seeks to keep global warming well below 2 degrees Celsius, a person’s annual carbon budget should be limited to 2.1 tons per year. That means Prince Harry and Markle surpassed that mark by nearly 15 times in a single flight.”

The royal couple constantly finds reasons to talk about drastic measures that must be taken to fight climate change. But just like all climate activists, their hypocrisy never ends. While they speak about the need for everyday citizens to change their lifestyle to help the environment, they fly around on fancy jets, ride on giant cruise ships, and drive through cities with a motorcade.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle didn’t take a little, hybrid puddle jumper across the pond. No, they used a Bombardier Global 6000. The New York Post covered this story quite well. In fact, they cited Royal Expert, Tom Quinn who called this airplane a “Russian oligarch kind of jet.”‘

The real display here is one of hypocrisy by the out-of-work royals.
