Pay Up, Stormy!
Back in 2018, disgraced porn actress, Stormy Daniels sued then President Trump for defamation over a tweet.
“A sketch years later about a nonexistent man,” Trump tweeted. “A total can job, playing the Fake News Media for Fools (but they know it)!”
According to Dan Abrams’ website, Law and Crime, the since-incarcerated Michael Avenatti represented Daniels during considerable portions of the underlying defamation claim.
The Judge thew out the case, finding that the tweet was protected speech under the First Amendment, as it was ‘rhetorical hyperbole.’ This prompted Trump’s legal team to file for attorneys’ fees. The Judge agreed, awarding former President Trump $292,052.33.
On appeal to the extremely liberal 9th Circuit, a three-judge panel made up of two Obama appointees, and a Clinton appointee said that Trump’s legal fees were fair and that because Stormy failed to appeal the lower court decision within 30 days, it was final. Thus, this court had no jurisdiction over the case.
What does all of this mean?! It’s time for Stormy to pay up or face the consequences.
