Since President Donald Trump’s administration launched a federal crackdown on crime in Memphis, Tennessee, more than 1,000 arrests have been made and dozens of missing children have been located.

Attorney General Pam Bondi told Fox News on Wednesday that the ongoing operation has targeted violent offenders and gang activity across the city.

“From arresting more than 100 gang members to locating more than 70 missing children, our brave federal agents and local authorities are doing incredible work to protect the good people of Memphis,” Bondi said. “Tolerating crime is a choice: under President Trump, we refuse to accept the victimization of innocent American citizens and will continue making our cities safe again.”

On September 15, President Trump signed a memorandum establishing the Memphis Safe Task Force and authorizing the deployment of National Guard troops to assist local authorities. Memphis has long ranked among the nation’s top cities for violent crime. Since the operation began in September, authorities have reported 1,309 arrests, including nine for homicide, 52 for sex offenses, 527 warrants, and 132 firearm offenses.

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee praised the administration’s initiative earlier this month, saying during a press conference that the crackdown could continue “forever.”

“We do know this is going to last for months, and we have just begun,” Lee said. “In fact, I will tell you that it will last forever.”

Officials said the task force has seized 247 firearms, located 72 missing children, and arrested 109 known gang members, including those affiliated with MS-13 and Tren de Aragua.

“Our priorities in Memphis are removing violent criminals, eliminating drug trafficking, and executing warrants for criminals within the communities,” Gadyaces S. Serralta, director of the US Marshals Service, told Fox News. “So far, we have arrested more than 1,300 people. Nine people wanted for homicide, 52 for sex offenses, and 109 gang members. We are doing the job we were sent here to do, and I know the people of Memphis appreciate our assistance.”
