Quick story time: I went with Jarred up to a military event near Austin last fall, and while we were there, he had Retired MMA Fighter Tim Kennedy on his podcast, Drinkin’ Bros. So I got to meet him, and OH BOY, you guys, he is awesome. I’m so thankful I know about his work and his content now. I highly suggest following his page on Instagram.
I love to see his takes on current events, and right now, he is NOT disappointing with his take on the extreme weather crisis in Texas. Here’s his post:
My last trip to the grocery store was on Valentine’s Day when Jarred and I made the risky trip to get some last-minute items before Texas’s weather situation got worse. While in the very empty store, the workers told us to grab whatever we could because the shelves were barren, and the supply truck wouldn’t be coming in with new food for many days because the roads of Texas are CLOSED!
Tim hit the nail on the head in his post: “The past 12 months have shown many of us how vulnerable we are and how reliant we are on others, the government, and public utilities. Preparedness is the culmination of the proper training, equipment, and mindset.”
As a conservative, I believe people are truly free when they are able to take care of themselves and their families without relying on the government. 2020 and now 2021 have inspired me to put that idea into action, so I have been taking steps to be fully capable of surviving on my own. I’m planting and harvesting my own food, learning more survival and handy skills, and becoming proficient in outdoor activities.
If you are interested in taking these steps, too, following Tim’s account is a great way to start!
