#DefundThePolice became a rallying cry during the BLM protests (and looting and violence) that happened over the summer, and Minneapolis is finding out precisely what this far-left ideology brings once it’s put into action. Just this year, the Minneapolis police department had its budget cut by $14 Million, and the city has seen an explosion of violence and an exodus of cops.
Get this: More than 500 people have been shot in Minneapolis already this year – TWICE as many as in 2019. Murders are up more than 50%. There have been more than 5,000 violent crimes – the most in the past FIVE years.
While the far-left uses “Defund The Police” as a rallying cry to push their agenda, Minneapolis is becoming a more dangerous place for its citizens. But this is what happens when hashtags escape Twitter and “activists” pressure weak leaders into putting them into action. How many more cities need to fall to this reckless rhetoric until we put a stop to it? How many weak leftist leaders need to roll over to the far-left and let an anti-police agenda sweep through their cities before enough is enough?
I spent time on the ground in Minneapolis after the “protests,” and what I saw was a city in complete disarray. The death of George Floyd (a flawed “hero” if there ever was one) sent the city into a spiral that far-left activists exploited. They have no clue how to move forward and how to keep citizens safe.
Let what’s happening in Minneapolis be a lesson to all of America regarding what happens when far-left policies are allowed to take root and be executed. The chaos happening in Minneapolis could be coming to a city near you if weak leaders keep acquiescing to leftists.
