Yesterday was a horrible day; we all know it. Yesterday was also a tragedy. We lost someone yesterday, and her name was Ashli Babbitt. The media has already begun to drag her name through the mud but before we let them do that, let’s take a second to recognize this her accomplishments.

Ashli looks like she was a follower of mine, and I felt some obligation to stand up for her as the media begins to villainize her and her life. The media is steering tweets, likes, and other instances of social media involvement as a way to twist her life into something that isn’t true. So, here is the truth.

Ashli Babbitt was a patriot. I don’t care what the media says. She was a patriot. She served FOURTEEN YEARS in the Air Force. She fought for YOUR FREEDOM in Afghanistan, Iraq, and even that wasn’t enough for her…

After those two tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, Ashli CONTINUED to fight for America when she served in the National Guard and did TWO MORE TOURS in Kuwait and Qatar.

Someone close to Ashli described her as “opinionated but sweet, loud but sweet, thoughtful and loving.” That sounds like a patriot to me. Someone who stands up for what they believe in but is also kind, loving, and sweet. Someone who dares to make a difference in our country and fight for OUR freedoms.

Join me in prayer for Ashli’s friends and family; they will need it during this challenging time. We will not forget the incredible things she did to fight for our country. From one veteran to another, thank you for your service.
