While some states like Florida are completely open and free, other states like New York and California are starting to impose more COVID-related restrictions. The primary cause for these new mandates is the new Omicron variant. Now, I’m all for science and I understand that new variants will emerge…but new variants will always be emerging.
I keep hearing “follow the science” but I don’t see anyone actually following it anymore. The mandates, which are imposed for our health and safety, genuinely do not make sense. At first, we were told masks don’t work, now they do. Then we were told if you get the vaccine your life will go back to normal, and we know that isn’t the case. We were told if you get the vaccine you can’t spread the virus or get it but we know that isn’t true either. I could go on and on. The goalpost keeps changing and it’s at a point where we can’t even trust what anyone says anymore. COVID is never going to go away. We’ve had the flu vaccine for decades and guess what still comes around? The flu.
Australia has put in place some of the strictest measures in its COVID camps. Outside of the camps, if you breach the stay-at-home order you can be fined up to $3,700 USD. This type of totalitarianism rises slowly over time by handing over power to the government. As we’ve seen in Los Angeles and New York, those that are in power will stop at nothing to impose whatever they deem necessary to prevent the spread of whatever variant is rampant at the time. Like I mentioned before, following the science means new variants will always be coming around, much like the common cold or flu.
So I beg the question, when will this all end? Are we going to be in forever lockdowns for each new variant or will we all decide to officially move past this, take care of our health, and move on? What’s happening in Australia is a warning sign for what’s to happen in America if we let the government continue to walk all over us. States like Texas, Florida, and Tennessee have been monumental during this pandemic regarding our freedoms. We have to keep this momentum up and do whatever we can to stop the medical tyranny we’re seeing in other states.
