Leftist often argue that wearing a mask is like wearing a seatbelt. We do it to protect ourselves. There are some key differences.
Seatbelts are proven to work. Masks are largely proven to NOT work, unless they are sealed N95s, not cute lace mesh coverings with gaps, holes or dirt.
Seatbelts are not political. The left weaponized the corona virus to hurt conservative politicians and tank the economy. Masks were mandated under the guise of protecting the population. However, it is easy to argue that quickly morphed into a means of leftist political control.
