A recent Daily Mail article featured a 28-year-old woman who is arguing that her employer should give “dog mums” the same flexibility as employees with children. Mary Rose Madigan, owner of a black chihuahua, wrote an essay for news.com.au where she further alleges that chihuahuas and children are virtually the same things.
“I am a dog mum, and I want the same flexibility and understanding as mothers of human children. Do you need to pick your kids up from daycare? Same, my son goes to doggie daycare. It is also very unaffordable, $65 a day and it costs extra if I’m late! So, I must go.”

Hard stop. Pets are great and hard work, but they are not children.
In a society where liberals want to encourage us to be godless, childless dependents of the government, an argument like Madigan’s is celebrated. They say things like, “who needs children when you can have a dog? Your job is your baby!”
Arguments like these are intentional. One tends to care a lot less about the future when she has no children. There is no motivation to fight for a brighter tomorrow; you can be selfish and live in the moment.
Living a selfish life is extremely unfulfilling. We are all put on this Earth to make it a better place and although pets can add to our joy, they will certainly not be taking care of us in the nursing home in our final days…
