As many of you have seen in the news, recently in Houston, TX, there was a music festival called “Astroworld” put on by Travis Scott. This festival’s advertisement showcased an ominous message – a portal with people walking into it, with a slogan of “see you on the other side” to the right of the image (certainly a huge “red flag” in my opinion). The website stated, due to COVID-19, there would be a limited number of tickets available, though it is estimated there were at least 50,000 people in attendance. Before the event started, people broke through the security checkpoint center and bypassed all security protocols, as they created an actual stampede, injuring scores of people in the process.

As the main event started, Travis Scott was introduced and an intro video began to play. The video shows a breaking news report that he broke his knee while on stage. It flashes to a 911 call, then shows someone (for whom I am assuming is supposed to be Travis) in an ambulance with broken bones and blood spurting out on the first responders, prompting the screen to flash then suddenly go black. A heartbeat pattern with flashing sirens in the background played as this dramatic spectacle continued. The side screens showed a man being carried on a stretcher and put on a lift, for which Travis then emerges from and begins singing. Little did anyone know, the actual event would soon prove to be even more graphically intricate than his entrance.
A few notable events that transpired within the 1 hour and 6 minute video:
Around 11 minutes and 25 seconds into the video, a woman is noticed repeatedly saying there is a girl who cannot breathe, as someone else says, “let her out (of the crowd),” to which Travis started performing the next song and those voices were drowned out. Approximately 30 seconds later, you hear a man start yelling for people to make room.
Around 14 minutes and 16 seconds into the video, Travis began saying that he wanted to “see the rage come alive tonight,” as he repeatedly yelled, “choose your side and choose your side wisely!” Mind you, all of this is happening while people are suffocating in the crowd and being trampled on, while screen depictions of Travis show an ominous scene of him surrounded by flames as if he is performing in hell.
Around 30 minutes into his performance, the surge in the crowd became dramatically more intense, as things take a turn for the worse, and begin to turn deadly. This was also when they removed Kylie Jenner, her & Travis’s daughter, and Travis’s mother from the VIP section.
At some point during the video, Travis spots the ambulance trying to work their way through the packed crowd, so he stops the show and moments later says, “Y’all know what you came here to do, I wanna make the m*****f****** ground shake!” At another point, Travis sees someone pass out, and stops the concert again, prompting security to help the gentleman out. As he resumed his performance, people began chanting “stop the show” (it is unclear if he heard them or not).
Here is a video with a perfect depiction of exactly what was going on while Travis continued to perform:
Aside from Travis failing to cater to the overall needs of the crowd, concertgoers were screaming at and telling his staff that people were dying, begging for them to stop the show as the staff ignored all pleas and kept recording the concert. This, coupled with the golf cart styled ambulances that were trying to work their way through the crowds being subsequently shut down at every turn because people kept surrounding them, climbing atop and dancing on them, as well as hanging off of the vehicles, made for the perfect storm of terrible circumstances that left at least 10 people dead.
The youngest (and most recent) victim that lost their life from that night in Houston, TX, was 9-year-old Ezara Blount. Blount was on his father’s shoulders toward the back of the crowd to start the show, but once Travis started performing, the chaos began and Ezra’s father lost consciousness and fell to the ground, leaving Ezra to be trampled. After days of being on life support, Ezra’s family announced he had died.
Every aspect of this music festival represented the degeneracy of not only secular rap culture but the generation that is up and coming. Few people cared that others were being trampled and suffocated until they themselves experience the same. Over and over we have warned you that secular rap is a tool of the devil, inviting the demonic into the mainstream. This type of music has contributed to the destruction of young lives all across America, and this can be chocked up as the latest example. This event was a disgusting yet honest display for the lack of regard for life that secular rap culture encourages.
