Tucker Carlson is right. The Coronavirus pandemic, vaccine mandates, Dr. Fauci, and the vaccine itself have now become a strange religion. Its converts wear necklaces that declare them “vaxed” so that even strangers know how virtuous they are. Anthony Fauci has his image placed on candles, presumably for people to pray to. And yes, the converts to the cult and religion of coronavirus STILL wear their masks in public, even though they’re likely vaccinated, so that they can signal to their fellow cult members how virtuous they are.
I’ve been highly critical of the government’s response to the pandemic from the very beginning, but this is getting creepy. The Left has no real wins to speak of right now. The border is an absolute mess, Afghanistan was a debacle, and most rational people realize that something is just not quite right in America right now. So, the cult of Coronavirus must double down.
It is the only way they can signal to their converts that they’re somehow better than all those evil Conservatives who dare to question the power and authority of the almighty government. They declare others “selfish” just because they’re not racing to inject a substance into themselves to protect them from a virus that they quite possibly have already gotten sick and recovered from.
The Left doesn’t have religious principles. They mock and laugh at it. To them, government power is the only thing that should be worshipped. Why do you think they tried to close churches at the height of the pandemic? Whatever your opinion about COVID, vaccines, or mandates is, you’ve got to admit: the religious fervor surrounding all things Coronavirus that is coming from the Left right now is pretty creepy. And it’s not stopping anytime soon.
