According to Fox News, the California Advisory board wants police agencies to “regularly check” officers’ department-issued cellphones, computers, and social media activity for any racist or otherwise offensive content.

You might think that sounds great… on paper. HOWEVER, when you take a step back and realize how much power this gives the advisory board, one might grow a little uneasy.

What even is deemed “offensive” by these officials?
As many of us have seen, “offensive content” can mean a lot of things. “Offensive content” could be whatever some SOFT and VICTIMIZED Millenial is butthurt about on ANY GIVEN DAY.
So WHAT is deemed “racist” by these officials based on their online activity? Will black and white cops alike be policed if they are racist to one another, or will there be a double standard?

The truth is, there’s no telling how badly this could play out. This gives social justice warriors an extensive and broad range of power that they should NEVER HAVE. I say, let’s stick to the First Amendment…
