We parade around with shirts that say “Big Gov Sucks” on them (and they look really cool) – but sometimes you need to have a REALLY frustrating interaction to realize that, in fact, Big Government is awful. I had the “pleasure” of speaking with the lovely people at the IRS earlier this afternoon about some tax stuff (owning your own media company sometimes isn’t as glamorous as it seems) and not only did it take me 30 precious minutes to get through to someone, I was cut off after 3 minutes and had to go through the ENTIRE process again.
I won’t even get into the various “fees” that were tacked onto my quarterly tax payment that I was just supposed to unquestionably accept from some woman who could barely hide the hostility in her voice. I thought one thing in my head the entire time: government will ALWAYS find a way to grow itself. And the quality of service to those of us they’re supposed to be serving will always suffer.
These are the geniuses who want to be put in charge of “free” healthcare, “free” four-year college, and all the other “free” stuff they sell to idiots on the left who don’t know any better. Do we really want the same people who make our interactions at the post office, IRS, and DMV so miserable in charge of healthcare and public school? I don’t. And you shouldn’t either.
Big Government Sucks. It’s not just a t-shirt: it’s the TRUTH.
