Sesame Street’s Big Bird, a prominent television hit for young children, announced that he had received the COVID-19 shot.
Big Bird Tweeted out to his 254.1K Twitter followers that he had been vaccinated and stated that “My wing is feeling a little sore, but it’ll give my body an extra protective boost that keeps me and others healthy.”
After Tweeting this out there was a storm that followed shortly after.
Some users replying back giving praise and showing support of Big Birds “Courage.”
President Biden and Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky were just a few of the many coming in to show their support.
But don’t believe this outrageous children’s propaganda scheme didn’t go unnoticed. MANY users voiced their disapproval of the message Big Bird was portraying.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz was among those that weren’t as happy about it.
Many journalists are calling the television show out, stating this is “evil” propaganda and they are “brainwashing children.”
Other Twitter users noticed the irony of the post after dissecting Big Bird’s past.
But one of my favorite replies to Big Bird’s Tweet was this one:
Just out here being realistic! Can’t blame him!
What do you think of the Tweet the fictional character sent out encouraging the vaccine in young children ages 5-11?
