A group of CEOs from some of America’s largest airlines signed an open letter to President Biden to end mask mandates on airlines.

A travel industry lobbying group called, Airlines for America (A4A) is calling on the Biden Admin to “sunset federal transportation travel restrictions.” The group also states in the letter that the current restrictions and mandates don’t actually reflect the “realities of the current epidemiological environment.”

Mandates have become optional in parts of the country, and we’ve seen an increase in public functions that don’t require a mask policy – restaurants, schools, sporting events, etc.

Leaders from 10 U.S. companies signed the letter, with 6 of them being top officials from major airline carriers, including Alaska Airlines, American, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, and United.

The original mandate was set to end on March 18, but the policy was extended by TSA to April 18. Do we think it will actually end in April?
