Prominent conservative radio host Glenn Beck expressed his frustration on social media this week after Apple Podcasts removed all episodes of his show, The Glenn Beck Program, with no explanation.
Last Wednesday, Beck took to X (the platform formerly known as Twitter), to share a message he received from Apple after his show of 3,000+ episodes was removed without warning. According to Beck, he received a message from Apple indicating that there was an issue with his show that needed resolution before it could be available on Apple Podcasts.
“We found an issue with your show, The Glenn Beck Program, which must be resolved before it’s available on Apple podcasts. Your show has been removed from Apple Podcasts,” the message stated.
The message included a link for more details, but when Beck clicked on it, he was greeted with a message simply stating that his show had been removed from Apple Podcasts.
Following the significant attention his video garnered, Beck reported later that day that Apple had restored his show’s episodes to the podcast catalog. Beck characterized the issue as a “glitch,” but questioned whether or not it the removal was intentional censorship on the part of Apple.
“It’s probably just a glitch, but it’s amazing how we have to have a whole bunch of people point out the ‘glitch’ before the ‘glitch’ is found and [the show is] put back,” Beck stated.
Beck’s podcast, which is ranked 6th among all news podcasts on Apple Podcasts and 37th overall, carries notable influence in the conservative sphere.
“I think the closer and closer we get to this election, the more and more ‘glitches’ are going to happen,” Beck concluded in his video.
