On the opening day of the 2026 Turning Point USA Women’s Leadership Summit, Culture Apothecary host, Alex Clark, talked about the states of singleness and marriage, and gave advice to her audience on how to navigate through, and enjoy life in, both states .
For instance, the feeling of singleness being a result of abandonment or punishment is something to reject, Clark noted.
“Stop thinking that singleness is a punishment from God,” she advised the audience. “Stop thinking that he forgot you. Stop thinking that he abandoned you when we don’t trust God or when we try to control our own future… How do you know what your life is going to look like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog. It’s here for a little while and then it’s gone.”
“What you ought to say is, if the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that. I cannot tell you how many nights I’ve spent heartbroken. How many prayers I’ve prayed,”
“Use this time to serve other people,” Clark also recommended to women. “I promise that we aren’t single because we haven’t found ourselves yet. Most of us know and love ourselves pretty well. If we’re being honest, I think we love ourselves a little too much. All human beings are naturally bent towards ourselves.”
Clark mentioned that this time could be devoted to charity work, relating that she used to advocate for foster children through the non-profit Child Advocates.
One of the highlighted moments of the speech, taking place toward the end, was Clark’s announcement of her engagement, and having her fiancée meet her on the stage to share the moment before the audience.
