Recently, I had the honor of emceeing the 9th annual Wine Women & Shoes benefitting Big Dog Ranch Rescue at Mar-a-Lago. The tireless founder of the organization, Lauree Simmons has dedicated her life to saving dogs across the globe, but she always knows how to throw a party and raise money for the pups!
This year’s event raised over 3 million dollars, allowing expansions at the stunning doggie ranch, as well as rescuing dogs from natural disasters, tragedies, accidents, and unsafe situations worldwide and bringing them to the LARGEST no-kill pet paradise in the United States.
Our event was special. We had well-dressed women, a lady’s fashion show, great food, handsome, sophisticated men serving the champagne, and Lara Trump helping out too! Another special part of the day was our very special visitor, President Donald Trump.
He was in a great mood-coming straight from the golf course, still in his golf shoes, after having won a tournament. He was supportive, jovial, and on-brand. However, what was so amazing is that everyone in that room felt special. Whether it was a selfie, a handshake, or a compliment, he addressed everyone in the 800 person crowd, including my son and husband. He remembered them by name, shook their hands said hello, and posed for pictures. There is no one like him and few days as special as Wine Women & Shoes benefitting Big Dog Ranch Rescue.
