The Wichita State University battle of free thought versus totalitarian Leftist thought control CONTINUES!
If you guys don’t remember, back in March 2021, self-identifying communists at WSU, including student senators, called for freshman student Senator Olivia Gallegos’s resignation after she submitted me to their pool of women the SGA should highlight as admirable women for women’s history month.
We worked with FIRE to protect Olivia’s position and ensure she was not removed by these radical students.
But now, there’s a new update to the story. The TPUSA chapter has been going through the required process on the campus to receive official status as a club: Registered Student Organization. They were just denied by the student government.
You can watch the full video of the vote here:
Here’s my reply to the original news that the campus was denied:
This has gotten so ridiculous that even the local news is covering it. WATCH HERE:
Olivia Gallegos, the president of the TPUSA chapter on campus, released the following statement:
“After meeting all criteria set forth by the Student Government Association, Turning Point USA at Wichita State University was formally denied recognized student organization status. We are in the appeals process with the Student Supreme Court. We will update accordingly as requested.”
Even better, on top of news coverage from the student paper, local reporters, including Lily Wu from KWCH, we are finally seeing some courageous justice and leadership from the school’s president himself.
WSU President Rick Mumu released the following statement:
I can’t thank President Muma enough for protecting these students’ rights and intellectual diversity on campus.
Here’s the even better news: I’m heading from Arizona to Wichita State University in Kansas for an event this Friday, October 22, to show my support for these students who have shown such remarkable resilience in the face of adversity. I am excited to throw my support behind them and have a great conversation with them about the rise of the radical Left in America and action items for them to implement to spark positive change on a personal, community, and national level.
See you soon, WSU! You can still register for this free event happening on Friday, October 22, HERE.
