Have you heard this lie from the left lately that conservatives “aren’t pro-life, they’re just pro-birth?” That’s such a joke, and as conservatives, we know it because the truth is you can’t even BE pro-life if you’re not pro-birth FIRST. Shouldn’t allowing the baby to be born at all be the lowest standard for what should be considered pro-life? I don’t think we should be letting people who advocate for dismembering babies in the womb tell us what is and isn’t regarded as pro-life.

Just because we don’t support socialized programs doesn’t make us less compassionate. We want to take care of people; we have different ideas on how to do that. Leftists believe the government should be providing people with full healthcare coverage, subsidized housing, and free college education by taxing hardworking Americans. Conservatives think we can utilize free-market values to ease the cost of healthcare, housing, and higher education while also having the freedom to CHOOSE where we give our money.

That means we have the liberty to be MORE compassionate by caring for the needy out of the goodness of our hearts. It’s LESS compassionate to pawn our acts of kindness off on the government. Studies show that conservatives give more to the needy than liberals. Ironically, the people who are leading the effort to care for the poor and those less fortunate is the church. By the way, the church is being restricted to their constitutional freedoms all over the country right now because of leftist governors like Gavin Newsom in California.

Bottom line: the left loves to conflate arguments to make it seem like conservatives are bad people for holding the views that they do, but the solutions that they call “compassionate” actually create more problems in society, not less. Universal healthcare would lead to long wait times, terrible quality care, more deaths, and higher taxes. Open borders would put our national security at risk, put immigrant women and children at risk, and crime rates in the US would skyrocket. If you want to argue issues like open borders or healthcare for all, that’s one thing. Still, if you cannot protect the most vulnerable and innocent in our society, then there’s no way you could ever correctly care for those less fortunate outside the womb.
