Kyrie Irving, a professional basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets, has been sidelined and terribly maligned for standing up for what he believes regarding his personal right to opt out of the COVID-19 vaccine. This decision came at a tremendous professional cost to him, especially if his employers decide in the future to release him from the team. Many commentators, players, coaches, and fans within the sports industry have expressed their discontent with his decision. However, a prominent boxer has not. Instead, he has praised Irving for standing for what he believes in.

This man is Floyd Mayweather.

Coming to his aid and defense, Mayweather has praised Irving for his steadfast conviction, his strength, and his courage. It is undoubtedly quite vindicating having those of notable rapport defend persons deemed “unclean” by one’s job and society as a whole. Kudos to both Kyrie Irving for having the gumption to stand on the courage of his convictions and Floyd Mayweather for being strong enough to stand up and support a man that has possibly made a career-ending move in order to steer clear of the government imposed vaccine.
