Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the head of the World Health Organization, has shared that a “top-level” mission to China with a WHO team to discover the origins of COVID-19 has been officially denied entry to the communist country. Until explicit permission is given by the CCP, WHO officials will be unable to explore the disease’s origins.

I’m not sure exactly what the WHO was expecting here–this is not the first time China has been wildly uncooperative with the international community and the WHO specifically. We saw a very similar playbook unfold in the early 2000s with the SARS pandemic (another coronavirus), leading to condemnation of the CCP worldwide and distrust in the international community.

What are your thoughts on this decision from the CCP? Should the WHO be able to investigate COVID-19?
