Turning Point USA Students is actively increasing civic involvement among America’s youth by engaging students on campuses and providing resources and assistance to help them get involved in the voting process.
One of TPUSA Students’ latest initiatives toward this effort took place during National Voter Registration Day on September 15. Across the country, TPUSA Club America and College chapter members tabled with their representatives and helped students (who are not yet of age to vote) make pledges to vote when they turn 18. They also helped other students register to vote and check their voter registration status.
Liberty University’s chapter mobilized many students throughout the day.
“Turning Point USA at Liberty University spent National Voter Registration Day checking students’ voter registration status, helping students register to vote, and handing out ice cream floats!” Sofia Kulik, Chapter President at Liberty University, told TPUSA HQ. “Our table’s theme was ‘Register to vote, then have a float’, and we reached over 100 students!”
Over 1,500 students at TPUSA chapters on high school and college campuses committed themselves to participate in the voting process on National Voter Registration Day.
According to TPUSA Students, it is deeply important to get students civically engaged as soon as possible and to encourage them to stay informed on important political issues that influence their quality of life.
