In yet another example of woke totalitarianism on American college campuses, this month, we saw the usual behavior of leftist students play out at Georgia Tech.
On March 14th, the TPUSA chapter hosted Matt Walsh to speak about the integrity of women’s sports. This topic has been one of America’s most prominent news stories this month, as biological male Lia Thomas, who now identifies as a transgender woman, came in first place at the NCAA championship.
As a competitor in the men’s division, Thomas ranked 462nd in the nation.
When students on Georgia Tech’s campus discovered Matt Walsh would be speaking on this topic, they began their slanderous bullying campaigns. Here are just some of the terrible actions taken by the left on campus:
The students labeled the event as harmful, claiming the event promoted the suicide of trans people.
They discussed the idea of throwing rocks and cans of soup at event attendees on social media.
They labeled the people of Turning Point USA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting American values, the free market, and individual freedom on campuses across America, as pedophiles.
The student government released a statement to “denounce hate and discrimination on campus” that stated the rhetoric of the event was “harmful and deeply impacted the campus,” declaring “hate has no place” on their campus.
Signs at the student protest had written slogans like “F*** TPUSA, F*** Matt Walsh,” “Bigots go home.”
It’s time to start calling what the woke leftist students do to anyone with views different than their own on college campuses what it really is: totalitarianism. They shout down, attack, and eliminate any opposing thought. It is un-American and unacceptable.
