Rasmussen Poll Finds Only 53% Of Black Americans Think It’s ‘Okay To Be White’

Scott Adams, creator of Dilbert comics, recently came under scrutiny for comments made regarding a Rasmussen poll which found that just 42% of black Americans think it is “okay to be white.”
Rasmussen was inspired to create this poll following the Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) classification of the phrase “it’s okay to be white” as a “hate slogan” used by white supremacists, and created a handy template for reporting those who use it.
Adam’s distributor and book publisher is cutting ties after hearing statements the author made on his YouTube livestream, in which he explained the Rasmussen poll results. NPR called the comments Adams made a “tirade against black Americans,” while including quotes from authors at multiple publications celebrating the swift and effective cancelation.
Most articles about the controversy only provide short excerpts from his monologue which lasted nearly 30 minutes, but since context is crucial in making a rational evaluation, his comments can be found below:
“So I like to focus a lot of my life resources, in, helping black Americans — so much so, that I started identifying as black, to just be on the team that I was helping. But it turns out that nearly half of that team doesn’t think I’m okay to be white, which is of course why I identified as black so I could be on the winning team for a while.”
“. . . As of today, I’m going to re-identify as white, because I don’t want to be a member of a hate group. I’ve accidentally joined a hate group. So if nearly half of all blacks are not okay with white people according to this poll, not according to me, according to this poll, ah, that’s a hate group . . . The best advice I would give to white people, is to get the hell away from black people . . . there’s no fixing this.”
“The only outcome, is I get called a racist.”

Adams continued by describing his experience in majority-black neighborhoods and the ways in which outcomes could be improved for the community as a whole, citing CNN’s Don Lemon in his descriptions.
Despite whether or not his comments were “acceptable” or whether or not they warranted such severe backlash, the poll’s findings are indisputably concerning. Even so, there has been a lot of disagreement on the results as some critics claim the methods used were not representative of the America population enough to warrant Adams statements.
Of the surveyed 1,000 Americans, 49 percent of respondents were women, 51 percent were men, 63 percent were white, 25 percent were mixed races, and 13 percent were black — which is equivalent to the percentage of black individuals living in America.
Of the black Americans surveyed, only 42 percent answered that they “strongly agree” when asked if they agree with the statement, “it’s OK to be white,” 11 percent “somewhat agree,” 18 percent “strongly disagree.”
Others are taking the poll results to heart and believe that it is yet another example of “black racism” towards whites.
Many conservatives have shared growing concerns that anti-white racism is the only socially acceptable form of discrimination. Last year, it was revealed that the NIH’s National Library of Medicine contained articles and studies which compared whiteness to a “parasitic” condition.
“The article, titled “On Having Whiteness” contains a vast amount of vile hatred aimed at white individuals, calling whiteness ‘a parasitic-like condition’ for which ‘There is not yet a permanent cure.'”

The article, after receiving minimal media attention or backlash, remains on the NIH’s website.
Polling shows that Americans view race relations in the United States in an increasingly negative light, most noting a sharp decline after 2020. The hyper-focus on race has done nothing to improve relations between Americans.
