Pastor John Amanchukwu, a Turning Point USA Faith contributor, had his microphone cut off by school board members before being removed from the meeting after he denounced the school’s transgender policies.

The TPUSA Faith contributor and pastor attended the Clark County School District Board of Trustees meeting on Thursday as he has done at several school board meetings around the country to successfully see policies regarding gender ideology and critical race theory challenged.

“I do this because the American education system is under siege. We’re getting sabotaged by atheist-Marxists—Marxist-atheists,— it’s all the same to me,” he joked while speaking with TPUSA.

“[The] emphasis is not on academics, the focus is, ‘Are they [the students] emotionally prepared to accept transgenderism, homosexuality, and social-emotional learning?'”

The Nevada district’s policy not only outlines what qualifies as discrimination against a student based on their gender identity but also sets out to create a “Gender Support Team” and subsequent “Gender Support Plan” to aid the students in their “gender discovery.” The policy also states that students have the right to use the restroom or locker room which aligns with their gender identity, rather than biological sex, on a “case by case” basis.

Pastor Amanchukwu attended the school board meeting to express his disapproval of the policy and to advocate for its removal. Shortly after he began speaking, the board turned off his microphone, which is most evident on the district’s live stream of the meeting.

“In response to policy 5138 I would like to share the 10 realities of LGBTQ,” he said. “Number one, there are only two genders. Number two, without heterosexuality, homosexuality would not exist. Number three, gender is not fluid, it’s frozen. Number four, parents who support transitioning a minor are guilty of child abuse, negligence, and human decency. The epitome of love is also truth. Number five, transgenderism is a mental disorder.”

When Pastor Amanchukwu began to describe “number six,” he was quickly interrupted by the school board president. Amanchukwu told TPUSA that his prepared statement was cut off after he said, “Anal sex, blowjobs, and orgasms are not criteria for the SAT nor the ACT.” Because these words were “profane” the board did not warrant them in the meeting of adults.

To display the hypocrisy, Amanchukwu began to read excerpts from the book “Flamer,” which is available in Clark County school libraries for underage children to access and makes explicit references to various body parts and types of sexual acts.

“No, stop. Stop. Absolutely not,” Evelyn Garcia Morales the school board president said, cutting Pastor Amanchukwu off. “I’m stopping your time because I’m going to correct you.”

The TPUSA Faith Contributor continued, despite his microphone being shut off, calling out, “On page 14, it says, ‘Hey, Navarro, suck any good d**** lately?’ … Page 22, it says, ‘What’s wrong, Navarro? I thought you like a big sausage in your mouth! Haha!’”

Garcia Morales again asked him to stop reading from the book, stating “John, your language is inappropriate … I’m asking you to stop.”

“You don’t want to hear the truth. You want to cover up the truth. We could care less about the perverted books you all want in the schools. Get them out, and let’s get back to reading, writing, and arithmetic,” Pastor Amanchukwu responded.

Parents seated in the meeting can be heard clapping for Pastor Amanchukwu, who they were evidently happy to have in attendance. Attendees were told that they could not hold signs displaying their personal beliefs or opinions; however, throughout the school board meeting, one board member held her own sign, symbolizing LGBTQ pride.

According to the Daily Caller, the Clark County School District Board of Trustees cut a mother’s microphone off in 2022 after she began reading excerpts from a “pornographic script” that her 15-year-old daughter was forced to read during class. After trying to bring her concerns to the school board members, and being quickly disregarded, the mother filed a lawsuit against the district.

“They will cut you off at a moment’s notice,” Amanchukwu told TPUSA. “Most parents don’t know how to respond to that.” He said that parents, teachers, and even school board members have contacted him and requested that he attend their district’s school board meeting to bring attention to the issues plaguing public schools. After meeting several parents who initially felt intimidated into silence, Amanchukwu said that he speaks at the public assemblies to help parents feel “encouraged and inspired” to speak out on behalf of their children.
