The US Department of Justice is investigating the assault of Frontlines TPUSA reporter Savanah Hernandez over the past weekend during a protest in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The incident took place outside of the federal Whipple Building where protests have occurred for months since ICE operations began in the region.
The three perpetrators of the hostile actions were the Ostroushko family, with the father, Chris, mother, DeYanna, and daughter Paige, each of whom expressed hostility toward Hernandez and in some instances assaulted her physically.
Later, Hernandez related the incident, stating she was under the pretense of having hit Paige without provocation, when she responded after being shoved by Paige Ostroushko in an act of self defense.
“After the daughter assaulted me, the mom came up and attacked me stating ‘you f*cking hit my daughter?’ The man who violently pushed me to the ground then screamed ‘don’t touch my f*cking daughter,’” Hernandez wrote. “Prior to their assault, all three had come up to me and were calling me a ‘b*tch, screaming in my face, putting dildos in my face, blowing whistles in my ears and then assaulted me as I was trying to leave.”
“A second angle shows that he had to be held back by five men as he continued to charge at me,” Hernandez also wrote. “I didn’t speak a word to him all day yet he repeatedly called me a bitch and very clearly looks like he wanted to violently hurt me even worse than he did.”
Hernandez further reported that Paige deleted her Instagram account and is allegedly attempting to scrub information about her from the internet. Chris Ostroushko as well is currently doing “damage control.”
Both Paige Ostroushko and her father Chris have social media accounts titled “‘MN ANGRY FATHER’ and ‘MN ANGRY DAUGHTER.’”
On a video posted on social media, Paige Ostroushko had called Hernandez “fucking piece of shit Turning Point bitch.”
According to Fox 9, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office is also investigating the incident, with a fourth unnamed individual being charged alongside the Ostroushkos. This individual’s criminal activity during the protest is “related to gross misdemeanor obstruction with force against a deputy.”
“Deputies said four people will be charged in connection to Saturday’s protest. Deputies say three will be charged in connection to the assault of a journalist and a deputy,” Fox 9 reported Sunday.
