The irony is lost on the intolerant Left when university administrators and professors hurt and punish people who refuse to “follow the science”—even when the person in question is herself a scientist.
While the Left’s cruel maltreatment of American patriots who dare challenge the Leftist narrative is not new in today’s Culture War, Alvernia University’s shocking suspension—and likely termination—of its own Department Chair of Math and Science was horrifying on an entirely new level.
From an EXCLUSIVE interview with TPUSA on Tuesday of this week, the Professor Watchlist team has EXPOSED the outrageous, chilling, and completely Orwellian series of events that led to Dr. Rose Chinni’s suspension at Alvernia University!
Dr. Chinni was a tenured chemistry professor specializing in laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy. Dr. Chinni devoted herself to the field of science for the past 17+ years. During the past 7 years, Dr. Chinni has chaired the entire Math and Science department of Alvernia U., using her time to implement the environmental science major, engineering majors, and computer science major.
When Dr. Chinni wasn’t shooting lasers in her lab, she was mentoring students through college life, advising them with their course schedules, availing herself to office hours, and all the little things that truly make a difference in the lives of students.
Students thrived under Dr. Chinni’s guidance. As our Professor Watchlist team spoke with Dr. Chinni, it was clear that she still has a heart for all of her students, caring for them as her own children.
There are so many lousy professors who achieve tenure in today’s universities—as proven by the Professor Watchlist! But Dr. Chinni was a gem overseeing the math and science department, and students pursuing a career in science, technology, engineering, and math had a strong, caring, and cheerful mother of three to lead them.
In fact, THREE of Dr. Chinni’s first Department Faculty hires as Chair just attained tenure and promotion at Alvernia U! Dr. Chinni’s roots at Alvernia U. go far and deep, and countless students and faculty have Dr. Chinni’s contribution to thank for their own success.
But the Left cares much less about inspiring students than it does about the proliferation of anti-American propaganda—even in the fields of math and science.
As the 2021 school year was soon to begin, the time came for the university’s students and staff to bow down to the Left’s vaccine mandates. Students were ordered to upload proof of vaccination to their special online medical portals prior to beginning the school year—or face academic suspension.
Alvernia University’s radical and draconian infringement of personal autonomy began in the 2020 academic year, when university administration and “pandemic committees” decided—against Dr. Chinni’s own input—that the university would deliberately make life difficult for unvaccinated students!
Can there be anything more cowardly or kafkaesque? Rather than discriminate against students outright, Alvernia University decided to make daily campus life difficult ON PURPOSE!
This was when Dr. Chinni spoke up. The weekly testing was just a way to BULLY unvaccinated students, and Dr. Chinni wasn’t going to let the university just implement this procedure without somebody calling attention to the insanity of this!
Dr. Chinni’s protests went unanswered.
What happened next is exactly what makes this story uniquely horrific:

But Dr. Chinni didn’t participate. Dr. Chinni was not going to be bullied by the university, even after 17+ years of service and 7 years as a Department Chair (of MATH AND SCIENCE!).
And so, the warnings came:
How absurd is that letter? Alvernia University strives to keep the campus “free of known hazards”—but it sounds to me like the university views anyone who is unvaccinated as the hazard!
Alvernia University had found a way to punish people who had not even responded to the questionnaire! This was the university’s clever way of bullying everyone: receive the vaccine regardless of your beliefs (as seen in the screenshot above), or we will “make life difficult.” If you choose not to answer, Alvernia U. just ASSUMED you were unvaccinated!
That is MIND BLOWING to me! Not answering the question became itself an answer! What do you do in a situation when the rules are designed so that you lose?
Dr. Chinni didn’t answer, because the rules were clearly ridiculous. As a result, Alvernia University suspended her from her duties as the department chair.
After 17 years of service.
They say that university life predicts society’s behavior 20 years from now: bullying students to comply today will train them into compliance in their workplaces, creating an entire workforce of self-censored and self-policed citizenry.
That’s why it’s SO IMPORTANT that TPUSA fights and WINS the Culture War on America’s college campuses!
People like Dr. Chinni are fighting on our side—the side of freedom! We need more brave and courageous patriots like Dr. Chinni!
After receiving threats from her own administrative staff, and after being stripped of so many of her duties, Dr. Chinni sent a letter to her advisees to always be decent, incredible citizens. Why did she do this? Because she actually cares about her students!
The letter read…
“Always stick to your morals,” she said!
You can imagine how upset the university provost became with that conviction. If students and faculty used their morals, they might resist Leftist indoctrination! After all, a set of moral beliefs would get in the way of Leftist propaganda!
In fact, it was THIS letter that led to Dr. Chinni’s recommended dismissal by the Provost!
And you know what? I can think of no better legacy Dr. Chinni could have left than the letter to her advisees entrusted to her care:
- Be objective, see both sides
- Fight for what you believe in
- Avoid evil
- Be true to your morals
Shame on every single teacher who doesn’t teach these values above all. Dr. Chinni, Department Chair of Math and Science, laser expert, caring mother and awesome mentor—I’m so glad that professors like her exist.
Professors like Dr. Chinni will save America, because it turns out, our student activists fighting the Culture War from their side of the classroom have freedom fighters on the other side of the classroom as well—patriotic teachers.
Dr. Chinni never divulged her political beliefs to TPUSA, and that’s because we didn’t ask. It doesn’t matter.
Dr. Chinni stood up for American values, and that’s what matters.
