New year, new image! Hugh Hefner’s widow, Crystal Hefner, has opened up about her new-formed perspective on her social media presence and the image she wants to portray to her followers.
According to E-News: Hugh Hefner’s third wife, Crystal, shared that she was “suffering internally” while posting NSFW pics for others and is ready to live for herself. She said in a recent Instagram post, “Modesty is what empowers me these days.”
Crystal goes on to thank her followers and says, “Now my women followers are giving the men followers a run for their money. Now I truly feel I have an army of supporters that care and see an actual soul behind the lens. For that, I thank you.”
More often than not, Hollywood, celebrities, media, and marketing use sex to promote their product, movie, show, or in Crystal’s case, herself. Crystal said it best, “sex sells.” Obviously, posting sexy pics helped her gain many followers on IG, which she acknowledged. However, today she confidently and proudly admits that modesty is what empowers her and makes her feel so much better internally.
This is exactly the lie that feminists and leftists try to portray on women. Popular culture tells young females that they will feel more empowered if they allow others to sexualize them. Ironically, in the past few months, huge influencers such as Emily Ratajowski and Crystal Heffner, whose entire brand was built on posting nude and sexualized photos, have now admitted that this made them feel objectified, worthless, and LESS empowered.
It seems like it’s time to take notes from these ladies sharing their stories, cover up our bodies a little bit more, and stop listening to the industry “leaders” that make you believe showing your skin and sleeping around is what creates your success and popularity.
