This past week, Chicago Public Schools (CPS) announced they would be eliminating all sex-specific restrooms in public schools, a move CPS referred to as a “big step forward for gender equity.”
The new initiative “requires the schools to display language outside of restrooms informing students, whether they are male or female, that they may use the restroom that aligns with their gender identity,” according to Fox News.
Not only will this affect student restrooms, but staff as well, whose bathrooms will now be entirely considered “gender-inclusive” in accordance with one’s self-proclaimed gender identity rather than their biological gender.
Especially after the sexual assault that took place in a Loudoun County, VA, public high school bathroom, outrage over so-called “gender-inclusive” bathroom policies has exponentially grown. Parents nationwide have begun addressing these issues at school board meetings, city council gatherings, and online alike, and backlash is sure to ensue in Chicago over this policy as well.
This isn’t the first far-Left initiative the Chicago public school system has adopted. TPUSA’s School Board Watchlist documents that Chicago passed a resolution requiring contraceptives be available to students as young as 5th Grade!
