The left has figured out that if you call something an ’emergency,’ you can pretty much do whatever you want, whenever you want.

The left seems to be testing out this emergency theory with traffic now. Ladies and gentlemen and gender non-conforming demisexuals, we have a traffic EMERGENCY!
40,000-ish Americans die in car accidents every single year. Just for the record, nobody WANTS Americans to die on the road. That should go without saying, but I guarantee someone is going to take this as “Jobob is pro-car accident deaths.”
While the amount of Americans that die in car accidents is awful, it’s something that we’ve all accepted as a society. People still drive to work and wherever they need to go. It doesn’t slow us down, and we’ve all decided it’s a risk we’re willing to take.
BUT NO LONGER SHALL ANYONE TAKE ANY RISKS EVER!
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is among many who have been talking about the new emergency to hit the country: Traffic deaths.
Former Mayor Pete and others are starting to talk about the “Vision Zero” plan, which ends with zero car accident deaths. It goes without saying that’s an impossible goal. But that’s not the point. The point is to continue to draw attention to car accident deaths and eventually call it an “emergency.”
The left hasn’t been shy about wanting to take as many cars off the street as possible. Bike lanes, pedestrian initiatives, ‘green’ programs for public transportation have all been attempts to get people out of cars, mostly likely pandering to the environmental crowd.
But it’s now going a step further. With their newfound tactic of emergency justified overreach, the left is sowing the seeds of a ‘traffic emergency.’ If the government can justify almost anything in the name of ‘safety,’ they can certainly take away Americans’ ability to drive their own cars to stop the ‘traffic emergency.’
The traffic emergency is coming. Keep your eye out for it.
