After fighting for chapter recognition on their campus for months, the TPUSA group at Baylor University is finally getting some recognition from the university administration!

Ollie, the chapter President of Baylor’s TPUSA Chapter, shared with us at HQ that TPUSA has officially been recognized on campus as an interest group, which is only one step away from status as a Registered Student Organization. Now, they are allowed to table and host events on campus, which was previously forbidden from the university.

“We are very excited, as a chapter, that we are officially an interest group at Baylor. While this is not a full charter, it does allow us to recruit and build up our organization in a way that we’ve never been able to before. This has been a very long and grueling process. Our chapter and executive board has worked so hard to get to this point and we are beginning to see the rewards of that work. This also wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the Turning Point USA representatives that have invested a significant amount of time into our chapter. We also appreciate Baylor Student Activities for their cooperation. We are looking forward to a future charter and the beginning of a successful Turning Point USA chapter!”
Oliver Mintz, Baylor University Turning Point USA Chapter President

“We are very excited to have reached this milestone on the road to receiving full approval from Baylor University. Despite various barriers during this process, we have remained persistent and hopeful that Turning Point USA will become firmly planted here at Baylor. We are strongly supported by a host of excited students from freshmen through seniors and we intend to continue to work tirelessly on their behalf to bring this chapter to fruition. Despite having encountered setbacks for over two years in this approval process, including being regrettably hindered by COVID-19 and the havoc it has reaped on university life, the board is moving forward with our heads held high as we celebrate this first step toward full charter. We are thankful to Baylor University for step one in this process and will work with them to see this organization through to conception. “
