2020 has been a trying year in so many ways for Americans. Still, political leaders rarely mentioned one that political leaders or the mainstream media is the growing crisis of mental health, affecting so many of us daily.
Here are the facts which aren’t being covered that you need to know:
40.9% of Americans who completed CDC surveys during June reported an adverse mental or behavioral health condition.
10.7% reported they had seriously considered suicide in the previous 30 days. This is becoming increasingly concerning for young adults aged 18-24 in America, at a rate of 25.5%.
More than 13% said they had increased or newfound substance abuse.

There are endless reasons this topic isn’t getting enough coverage in the news, but it’s time we spread the word. Isolation in our homes, closure of our schools and businesses, and loss of friends and family are significant events contributing to this growing concern.
If you’re reading this and you feel looped into one of those groups I mentioned above, I want you to know you are not alone. There’s absolutely no shame in reaching out for help, and we will get through this together.
It’s time to reopen our nation, reconnect with our loved ones, and confront the growing mental health crisis.
