Firefighter Trainee Changes Gender After Failing Strength Exam
A male firefighter trainee has been accused of changing his gender to take advantage of the lower physical standards for female trainees, according to a report from DailyMail.
The candidate, candidly known as David, allegedly failed the physical firefighter exam as a man by failing to achieve a high enough score. Shortly after his failing grade, David reportedly announced he was changing genders and becoming a woman.
The debacle is taking place in Spain, where female firefighters can qualify for a firefighting job by achieving a lower score in physical fitness. The discrepancy in physical fitness is due to the strength differences between sexes.
However, Spain recently introduced a law codifying transgender ideology and allowing anyone to legally change their gender without medical evaluations, psychological evaluations, or justification.
David’s actions have prompted potential legal action from fellow firefighting trainees, some of whom did not make the cut because of David’s alleged gender transition.
Raul Asjeno, a 21-year-old male firefighter trainee, was the last candidate out and did not make the cut following David’s alleged gender transition. Asjeno is considering legal action against the Madrid Council which is responsible for firefighter recruitment.
Asenjo said in a statement released to Spanish media that he was the “last one in the lift to qualify.” He stated he was left out “as the result of the allegedly unfair and fraudulent use of the rules by one of the candidates.”
“This candidate has claimed his status as a woman with the sole purpose of benefiting from the more flexible rules [for women] and as such they advance 100 people in the selection process,” the statement continued.
It has also been alleged that David was part of an anti-feminist group called “Men Who Go Their Own Way.” The community advocates for men to separate themselves from women in society. It’s unclear whether David is currently a member of the group.
