The University of Michigan and the University of Nevada, Reno Threaten Unvaccinated Students
College campuses around the country are becoming the first testing grounds of choice versus force. As the fall semester approaches, students are finding themselves battling with schools threatening punishment for remaining unvaccinated.
The University of Michigan and the University of Nevado, Reno, are just two of multiple examples. The University of Michigan just announced they will punish any unvaccinated students on campus.
After initially stating students would not need to get the vaccination, Michigan University began to change its position. At first, students were able to remain unvaccinated in exchange for getting weekly COVID-19 tests. The school also claimed that no one would need masks if the campus reached a 75% vaccination level.
However, the university’s new position is to require all students to be vaccinated, threatening students in an email that said, “Those who do not comply with this requirement and who have not been granted an exemption by Aug. 30 will be subject to appropriate campus disciplinary measures.”
All staff, students, and faculty at each of the three campuses, AND EVEN THOSE ATTENDING ONLINE, will be required to be vaccinated by August 30th, 2021. As the August 30th deadline approaches, at this moment, only about 80% of the students are vaccinated. The school claims medical and religious exemptions will be allowed, but we have yet to see what that looks like.
At the University of Nevada, Reno, Professor Elliot Parker, the chair of the Economics Department, sent a fear-mongering and slanderous email to all of his students pressuring them to get vaccinated. Parker said vaccinated students “are a threat to us all,” essentially labeling them as evil, potentially opening the door to hate crimes against these students. The UNR does NOT have a mandated vaccination policy, meaning this professor is stepping out of line by pressuring students.
One UNR student said, “as a student, I am shocked that a department chair sent out such an intimidating email to push his personal agenda. I believe in medical liberty and the right to call your own shots regarding medical decisions. This is the first introductory email this professor has sent out to my class for the fall semester. I am not hopeful his berating will end.”
The University of Michigan’s most recent Covid Vaccination Policy announcement threatened the students with disciplinary action, as extreme as expulsion from the university, if they refused to comply with this vaccine mandate. (Seen below)

Okay… lots of thoughts on this, but one big one stands out: is anyone else concerned that this man, Professor Parker, is the leader of the Economics department at the school?! No wonder so many young people support Socialism… they are learning from some great “experts” like Parker, who is assisting in creating the pro-Socialism movement in our country.
