Would Gwen Berry’s Antics Be Acceptable In North Korea?
Imagine, if you will: it’s June 2021, we now reside in North Korea, and Gwen Berry is representing the North Korean dictatorship in the Olympics, and she disagrees with their oppressive laws, so she chooses to turn away from the flag and take a stand against the crimes that are being committed against her people.
According to Yeonmi Park, a defector from North Korea, Gwen would have been executed, and up to eight generations of her family could be sent to political imprisonment camps. We are talking about Gwen, Gwen’s children, Gwen’s grandchildren, Gwen’s great-grandchildren, and so on.
However, when it comes to America, the greatest country on the face of this Earth with the most freedoms, Gwen is allowed to do this in the name of “oppression.” These popular “Gwen Berry” type of people repeat such Leftist slogans like, “America silences me,” and “America doesn’t care about people of color,” all the while some are privileged people of color such as Lebron James and Colin Kaepernick. These people who claim to be oppressed have the opportunity & liberty to disrespect their very country.
While it is certainly her prerogative and freedom to unleash an incredibly deceptive and divisive message while representing the United States in the Olympic trials, I would be remiss if I didn’t remind her and others commending this of true oppression in the form of a severe punishment/death if they were to disrespect the national anthem, flag, or ruler in a country like North Korea. Gwen Berry and people like her should count their blessings and realize what true freedom looks like, as I don’t think they would fare well in a foreign dictatorship with such outspoken animus for the country they wish to represent.
