Turning Point USA’s BLEXIT Chapter Supports Chicago Entrepreneurs with Pitch Competition
This past weekend, one of Turning Point USA’s BLEXIT chapters hosted a competition in Chicago, Illinois, to support and uplift local entrepreneurs and facilitate opportunities for them to network, find mentors, and gain strategic investors.
Approximately 40 people attended the event, during which five startup companies pitched their businesses to three investors, who judged the competition. The first prize winner receive $1,000, and the second prize winner received $500, to grow their small business. Following the contest, one of the judges invested in the second prize winner, believing firmly in their business plan and capability to succeed in the marketplace.
Through events like the Pitch Competition, Turning Point USA seeks to champion entrepreneurship and free enterprise as integral components to escaping government dependence and poverty. Cultivating a sense of confidence in communities to pursue fulfilling careers is essential to overcoming economic hardship. By encouraging hard work, creativity, and positive collaboration, TPUSA’s BLEXIT initiative will continue to uplift black communities across the United States.
