Social media is buzzing from the actions of transgender activist Rose Montoya, a biological man who was invited to the White House for a Pride event and exposed his large, fake breasts on the White House lawn. The incident was swiftly followed by the White House issuing a strict response condemning the behavior. Montoya took to Twitter to release a three minute video apologizing for her actions.

“I especially want to apologize to my black trans brothers and siblings, especially transgender women who are black because I understand that you all are constantly at a disproportionate level impacted by the actions of others and especially by anti-trans violence.”

However, it wasn’t long after making this public apology that Montoya went back to Twitter to make another video contradicting his apology. Montoya stated that he was upset the public was so quick to be harsh when all he wanted to do was “express” himself.

Now with pride month finally approaching the end, Montoya is expressing frustration that no sponsors nor brands want to work with him. This comes after a number of brands partnered with transgender TikToker Dylan Mulvaney and subsequently lost billions of dollars due to boycotts.

What’s wild is usually all of April and May I’m receiving dozens of emails from all sorts of brands large and small, networks, in-person speaking events, you name it. The last three years have been overwhelming with the amount of emails asking to work with me for Pride. I haven’t received a dozen yet.”

Most brands and sponsors were ready to work with Montoya for pride month, but few have reached out after seeing the severe backlash from the American public. Companies seem to be taking a conservative approach to this year’s Pride Month as consumers decide to boycott companies that don’t reflect their values.
