TikTok Star Addison Rae Fooled Followers Into Thinking She Was A UFC Correspondent

TikTok star, Addison Rae seemed to have landed a new broadcasting job as a UFC reporter for UFC 264: Connor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier. After her announcement, there was a frenzy on Twitter. Craziest part? She was never officially a reporter.

Addison Rae is one of the most popular influencers on TikTok with over 80 million followers, she is planning to release a new album, and is making her debut as an actress in the movie ‘He’s All That’ scheduled to release August 27. She’s kind of a big deal, to say the least.

The Tik Tok celebrity tweeted about her new gig with the UFC Friday by posting a picture of herself in front of a UFC red carpet banner with the caption “I studied broadcast journalism in college for 3 whole months to prepare for this moment.”

The announcement of her new gig received a lot of pushback from Twitter users, aspiring journalists and current sports media professionals. Many complained she hadn’t earned that spot and wasn’t qualified for the job.

After all the pushback and drama about her taking this job, she revealed she got fired.

Just one day after announcing the new gig she tweeted “nvm y’all got me fired.”

In reality, all she did was do a TikTok with Dustin Poirier on ESPN’s account. That’s it. No full-time gig. It was all a rouse it seems.

Celebrities like her will continue to get jobs and to be honest, it may be smart marketing. Think about all of the people that could care less about the UFC but decided to tune into the red carpet or just follow this story.

“Turning Point USA’s commitment to the fight for freedom on campus is more important now than ever.”

- Senator Marco Rubio, Florida
