Well, the progressive cookie has crumbled on Hollywood’s Times Up organization that was supposed to help victims of sexual harassment. They raised $3,670,219 in 2018, its founding year, but spent $1,407,032 on salaries and only $312,001 on the victims. YIKES.
Hollywood A-listers used this trendy slogan and the #MeToo movement to boost their popularity as feel-good fairies and appear as if they’re actually doing something. Their leftist luminary board members include Amy Schumer, Brie Larson, and Reese Witherspoon, who continuously promote progressive ideals as the moral high-ground.
It’s because of self-absorbed stars like them that people are skeptical of supporting a cause like the #MeToo movement, which on its face was a great idea. Women do need people to help them fight true instances of sexual harassment in the workplace but don’t count on celebrities to be the ones to do it.
