Is Family Debate at Thanksgiving Inevitable?
Probably. Unfortunately.
But you guys- life is short, and there is so much to be grateful for. Time with family and loved ones is precious and limited. If you plan on purposely ruining your family’s thanksgiving by making it political, you’ll look back on those memories one day with quite a lot of regret.
Let’s take this day to truly embody the meaning of the holiday: gratefulness for what we do have and an effort and dedication to give back and improve the lives of those around us in the years to come. Perhaps if more Americans had that mentality, we wouldn’t be so quick to hate our country and the progress we’ve made in the last three hundred years.
If your radical socialist family members bring up politics and start throwing out their insulting and emotional buzzwords, let’s be sure to stand our ground by citing facts, expressing that we believe in our conservative values because we care about every single person in this country and want them to succeed, and then let’s be the leaders by driving the conversation away from politics and toward a conversation of gratitude for what we do have in America.
I’m thankful for our personal and financial freedom, no matter how stressful the responsibility of those two freedoms gets sometimes. What about you guys- what are you grateful for that we have because of our classical liberalism and capitalism system?
