Iowa Schools are Required by Law to Allow Males into Female Locker Rooms if They Identify as Transgender

Iowa parents, it is time to take your children out of public schools.
A video was posted to YouTube by a parent highlighting Bettendorf Community School District’s transgender policy, which allows males who identify as female to use women’s locker rooms and bathrooms without question, supervision, or prerequisites.
The 11 minute video recorded the lengthy phone call between a concerned father, Jim Moffit, and the school district superintendent, in which the employee told the Moffit that the school is required by law to “allow transgender students to use the facilities of the gender with which they identify.”
The parent, understandably concerned, asked for a straight forward, “yes or no” answer, but was meet with a drawn-out explanation about “respecting” what each individual identifies as, and not basing ay decisions off of genders “assigned at birth.”
Iowa law requires “that individuals are permitted to access those facilities in accordance with their gender identity, rather than their assigned sex at birth, without being harassed or questioned.” Additionally, other Iowa school districts such as Linn-Mar have created “Gender Support Plans” which stipulate that any “student in seventh grade or older will have priority of their support plan over their parent/guardian.”
This policy effectively cuts the parents out of the conversation all together if the child is at least 12 years old. These “educators” want to give 12 and 13 year old children the ability to make life altering decisions that will result in repercussions they cannot even begin to understand at that age. Additionally, the Linn-Mar school district allows children to keep their gender identity a secret from parents or legal guardians.
“You cannot allow a young man who identifies as a female, into the girls locker room. the fact is, the title XI thing that says that they can do this is unconstitutional . . . you talk to your school board, you talk to your superintendent . . . you talk to your legislators . . . whoever you can get ahold of, you let them know that you want this to stop because you want [your children] to be safe.”

In a follow-up video posted to YouTube, Moffit expressed that he believes Title XI is “unconstitutional” sighting Fourth Amendment violations — and he isn’t alone. Parents Defending Education has launched a lawsuit against the Linn-Mar school district, sighting First and Fourteenth Amendment rights violations.
“A district that requires parental approval to administer aspirin is facilitating students’ gender transitions behind families’ backs — and maintaining this information in secret ‘temporary’ files so that parents can NEVER gain access to this information. It is unconscionable — and unconstitutional — for schools to intentionally exclude parents from their children’s medical decisions.'”
“Parents Defending Education has asked the court to declare that Linn-Mar’s parental exclusion policy is a violation of the equal protection clause – and that the district’s compelled speech policy is a violation of both the First and Fourteenth Amendment.”

Parents who oppose having males enter women’s facilities aren’t doing so to be bias, prejudice, or “transphobic” — they have a perfectly good reason to be concerned for their daughters’ health and wellbeing. Last year, parents were made aware of this problem nation-wide, when a Loudoun County school allowed a teenage boy wearing a skirt into female restrooms, where he proceeded to sexually assault a young girl. The boy was not immediately arrested, but rather transferred to another school in the district, where he once again committed another act of violence against a young female student. Parents were outraged at the attempted cover-up, but were met with hostility from their school board members, whose views on transgender ideology went unchallenged for too long.
These horrific assaults could be made all the more common if parents concede ground to these radicals who want to corrupt and pervert children. Iowa parents: this is your wake-up call, it is time to either take your children out of public schools, or be extremely persistent in contacting your local officials, to let them know that you demand your children e protected in schools.
