Female Military Recruit Forced to Shower with Trans-Identifying Women

An 18-year-old female military recruit has allegedly been forced to shower with and share housing accommodations with two transgender-identifying women who have “fully intact” male genitalia.

During a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on Tuesday, South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds claimed to have been alerted about the situation from his state’s Attorney General. The 18-year-old female has complained about the “extremely uncomfortable position” she has been placed in, having to share intimate and private spaces with two males.

“A young woman in the South Dakota National Guard experienced a situation at basic training where she was sleeping in open bays and showering with biological males who had not had gender reassignment surgery, but were documented as females because they had begun the drug therapy process,” Senator Rounds explained.

The Senator said that she had “limited options” to deal with the situation, given the military’s new commitments to LGBTQ+ inclusivity.

“If she raised her hand, she feared she’d be targeted for retaliation,” Senator Rounds said. “She could have recycled which would have delayed her freshman college start and would not have provided a guarantee of a different situation. She could request to leave the Guard for religious purposes and not be able to pursue her dream of serving our country.”

Rounds was outraged by the situation, and said, “The respect that this young recruit should have received and the privacy that she should have had, she was being deprived of.”

The Department of Defense responded to the situation by encouraging the recruit to “work through the chain of command,” to express her concerns, regardless of the retaliation she fears from her superiors.

The Army, Navy, and Air Force “all dutifully reported that they expected to miss their annual recruiting goal this year by thousands,” according to the Heritage Foundation. The most noticeable shift in recruiting happened following the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccine mandate, which caused thousands of active duty members to retire early, resign, or receive dishonorable discharges for their refusal to take the drug.

“While the Services struggle to meet recruiting numbers, there has been an increased emphasis on immutable characteristics like race and sex, and the Department has increasingly focused on new policies and plans in areas like ‘equity,’ ‘extremism,’ gender ideology, abortion and sex change operations. There is even a growing bureaucracy that focuses on these issues.”

To address these recruiting shortages, the military has deployed several tactics to boost the number of recruits, including lowering enlistment requirements, offering larger signing bonuses, and even employed active duty drag queen’s to encourage others to join. The Department of Defense has doubled down on its commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as LGBTQ+ priorities, hoping to stop the bleeding.
